Empathy and Its Role in Our Community

NOW - The article "Empathy and it's Role in Our Community,"  is written by the hosts of the new OneMontville Unites podcast series.

Michael Scilingo and Bansari Modi Shah are residents of  Montville Township, and two individuals whose support of the promotion of empathy has compelled them to reach out to the Montville Township Committee and become actively involved in the OneMontville organization.

This article, published in Montville TAP, on Tuesday, September 29, 2020, is the philosophy behind their launch of the OneMontville Unites podcast and the upcoming joint panel discussion JUST MERCY, which is co-hosted by the Montville Township Committee.

A Message from OneMontville

Along with so many of you, the leadership of OneMontville has been devastated to witness the discrimination and violence in this country. Racism, ignorance and bigotry continues to play a role in this country, and it must stop. We believe it is necessary to have difficult conversations about privilege, increase our own education and ask ourselves how we can each make our world a better and safer place for humanity. The mission of OneMontville is to create and promote a climate of acceptance, inclusion and kindness which teaches and celebrates respect for one another by embracing and being enriched by the diversity that comprises the Montville Township Community. The mission can only be fully accomplished through the involvement and commitment of community leaders, religious leaders, business leaders, and residents of all ages, races, religions, ethnicities, abilities, gender identity or sexual orientation. We hope you will make a commitment to uphold our mission and live everyday with Acceptance, Respect and Kindness.
